Smart GunTM is a new tool that has been specifically designed to assist applicator drivers in the field. Benefits of using Smart Gun include reduced customer crop injury claims, reduced product inventory losses, and big savings in clerical time.
The way Smart Gun works is through the Scheduling Program. After scheduling orders, the orders are electronically transferred into Smart Gun. The applicator driver then takes the durable, hand-held, user-friendly computer right in to the field, carrying the day's application schedule.
In the field the driver pulls up the scheduled orders in Smart Gun it calculates quantities of specific products needed for each load. If a field turns out to be a little bigger than the scheduled order, Smart Gun can calculate the quantities of products needed to finish the job. At the same time recording the increased product quantities for billing purposes.
Smart Gun documents each task as it is completed and prompts applicators to rinse tanks before a new job is started. Each evening Smart Gun's completed orders are transferred into the Schedule Program, automatically capturing the driver's logbook along with regulatory and billing information. Smart Gun reduces applicator driver work load and stress, which makes it easier to attract, develop and retain good applicator drivers.
